"toad" or "frog" are trivial names for different kind of salientian which do not refer to kinsmanlike relationships, but were given depending on appearance.
Short legged terrestrial living species with dry warty skin, usually having well developped parotoid glands and often horizontal longish pupils are called "toad".
Species with smooth skin and long legs usually are specified as "frog".

The most wide-spread and best-known of the true toads (Bufonidae)
are the species of the genus Bufo to whom this website is dedicated.
In the terrarium many of these species are easy to keep. But their requirements
for breeding were a miracle for a long time and up to now there is only very few
captive breeding information available.
Inspite of this some keepers succeeded in breeding toads. I want to provide their reports, my own experiences and the results of checking literature on this website.
